This is what I was waiting for.

Faced with a black/asian woman, the Republicans just aren't going to be able to help themselves - their hateful bigotry is going to keep rearing its ugly head.

The key moment is going to be when Candidate Lardbucket himself lets some of his own racism and misogyny fall out of his festering gob. That's going to be glorious.

[-] rc__buggy@sh.itjust.works 96 points 3 months ago

They went from zero to fully mask-off in less than 24 hours. I'm amazed at the quickness of it.

[-] fuzzyspudkiss@midwest.social 58 points 3 months ago

If you were in a red state during the Obama campaign/presidency you wouldn't be surprised.

[-] Snowclone@lemmy.world 18 points 3 months ago

Yeah, the overly racist shit that popped up all over rural NV was pretty disgusting.

Honestly, I am too.

I fully expected it, but not this soon.

Looking forward to more though. Every one of these is just more votes against Trump.

[-] GladiusB@lemmy.world 19 points 3 months ago

My hope is not to change them. But it is to change their children. Or those adjacent. If we keep trying to change them, we will never win.

The propaganda machine was full throttle on Biden is old and unfit, that as soon as switch happened Republicans were scrambling to grab onto the first thing they could come up with, of course racism and misogyny are the fallbacks.

[-] undefined@links.hackliberty.org 16 points 3 months ago

I’d almost say they’re the default.

I hear you and want to believe this too, but I am forever surprised at how much pro Trumpers are willing to ignore and just how many of them there are. His base will cheer him on and the rest will make excuses or turn a blind eye.

I hope I'm wrong

[-] DessertStorms@lemmy.blahaj.zone 16 points 3 months ago

You're not. There has not been any room left for doubt for nearly a decade that he is anything but an opportunistic racist misogynistic queerphobic ableist christofascist grifter. Those who already support him will continue to cheer him on because he feeds directly in to their need to feel superior to "others", and no one still on the fence is going to suddenly have an epiphany..

Republican Missouri secretary of state candidate Valentina Gomez just went on an unhinged rant attacking Vice President Kamala Harris on X, where she called her a “little wh*re,” as conservatives posted misogynist memes and jokes about Harris.

“Kamala Harris slept her way to the top, and Tulsi Gabbard already destroyed and exposed her in 2020. Kamala is just another DEI hire, and President Trump is going to eat her alive,” she said in a video.

I hate to break it to you but you’re never going to be racist or sexist enough to be fully accepted by them…

[-] ohmyiv@lemmy.world 68 points 3 months ago

lol A token GOP minority female is calling Kamala a DEI hire. FFS

[-] Thrashy@lemmy.world 26 points 3 months ago

This psycho was just in the news for attaching her Democratic opponent for "raising a groomer" because one of her grandkids is trans. She makes Marjorie Taylor Green look polite by comparison, and the shame of it is that, given how state-level politics have been trending in Missouri, she's got a decent shot of winning in the general just because of the magic (R).

  1. She's not a whore
  2. There's nothing wrong with being a whore

Usually in my experience, the people who call you a whore want to fuck you the most

My guy, the GOP is so full of hate that they'd have to ascend to get to misogyny.

Keep your powder dry. “Little whore” is going to seem mild compared to what’s coming.

Harris has to run a smart campaign. A competence revolution. An adult is there to take the wheel.

[-] ChronosTriggerWarning@lemmy.world 70 points 3 months ago

Take some Obama racism, mix with some leftover Hilary misogyny, bake for 15 minutes, and ta-da! Anti-Harris campaign all set to be consumed by your average cousin fucking maga voter!

[-] iamericandre@lemmy.world 68 points 3 months ago

Descends into? As if they haven’t been drowning in misogyny for decades

This is excellent. They have absolutely nothing of substance to use as ammunition. They will have only their bigotry and absurd conspiracy theories as we head into election season.

Biden is a national treasure for this.

This is the same candidate who filmed an ad where she is running with a bulletproof vest, a pistol and a rifle down the streets and then says "in America you can be anything you want, so don't be weak and gay" and tagged Andrew Tate on it.

It seems she's amping up the Marjorie Taylor green strategy of saying the most outrageous offensive shit to trigger the libs and rally her bigoted base.

$5 says she calls Kamala's VP pick a pedophile.

Misleading headline. Whatever it is they are "descending" into, they passed through misogyny quite a while back.

[-] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 35 points 3 months ago

lol come on guys that’s so lazy. Like sure, it’s offensive, but I’m sure she’s genuinely more entertained by the fact that she’s living rent-free in the heads of the racist and sexist portion of America.

And I would like to add: fuck you, trumpians. I am fucking enjoying having the shoe on the other foot. We’ll still give you hurricane repair money or whatever, but I am LOVING that you’re getting even a fraction of what the rest of the country and the world experienced for four fucking years.

Sadly, I’ve seen more than one “Joe and the Ho” bumper sticker over the last 4 years.

[-] carl_dungeon@lemmy.world 34 points 3 months ago

So normal GOP stuff?

[-] eran_morad@lemmy.world 26 points 3 months ago

Good. This will piss off women voters.

[-] Zink@programming.dev 31 points 3 months ago

Except the trumper women. Many of them are totally cool with misogynistic stuff as long as it’s against an other. One of the first reactions I saw to this sudden Kamala situation was a woman posting a still image of Harris talking with an O-shaped mouth. Then some obvious degrading comment about being ready to do her job or whatever.

Incredible how mask-off they've become over the last eight years. And we somehow tolerate it as though this is somehow acceptable behavior. Society should shun anyone who acts like this.

LOL, bound to happen. They will continue to lose their MINDS if she is in the general. Unhinged. I just hope not many normies fall for the bothsiderist bullshit we are bound to see from the "liberal media" - the same shit they did on Hillary - "many people are saying" that she's shrill, entitled, she cackles, and other such nonsense so they can appear "balanced" when the alternative is a fascist poised to end freedom of speech by the very same media...

[-] qprimed@lemmy.ml 22 points 3 months ago

having to disgorge years worth of hate in such a short time is surely going to overheat the GOP hate machine. just have to hope no one is in the blast radius when it explodes.

[-] just_another_person@lemmy.world 18 points 3 months ago

This lady is fucking crazypants. She's really trying to ramp up the fear and hatred. She's also Hispanic, so I'm sure she's just batshit insane if she doesn't realize the party she's trying to align with is not working for her best interests.
