Watchin' horror movies all month. Watched Scanners (good) and Us (not great) so far. Might get back into the Black Butler anime while I'm at it.

@Camden28@hexbear.net is planning on showing two horror/Halloween themed movies every Tuesday until Halloween, those being:

  • October 6 — Cemetery Man (1994) and Blacula (1972)
  • October 13 — Ganja & Hess (1973) and An American Werewolf in London (1981)
  • October 20 — Sugar Hill (1974) and Near Dark (1987)
  • October 27 — Chainsaws Were Singing (2024) and Renfield (2023)

I'm planning on showing Cupcakes the Animation (Vannamelon version / 2014) and Rainbow Factory (Grim Narrator version / 2021) on Halloween itself but will otherwise leave my watch parties for October unthemed. @Carcharodonna@hexbear.net will be showing Pulse (2001) and Noroi (2005) on October 30; @wombat@hexbear.net will be showing Incantation (2022) and Primetime (2026) "soon", which probably means this month but I'm not sure. If they have any other horror plans for October, or if the other watch party organizers have any plans, I don't know. If I were to hazard guesses for what the watch parties between today and October 29 will look like:

christmas-crab-legs You should watch SPARKLE ON RAVEN: The Life of DrillGirl; it is a very good show. {Cēterum|Furthermore} {cēnseō|I think} {iūs auctōris|copyright} {esse dēlendum|must be destroyed}.

Hope (2026) Korean monster flick would be great to watch. I have been waiting to watch it with yall.

Early Tuesday caveat: most the films aren't 'horror' so much as 'undead'. The non-undead ones (werewolf and chainsaws) have gore but are a bit tongue in cheek, which also might not be the same as horror.

I'll probably host Monster Squad (1987) on October 11th and the Remake of Night of the Living Dead (1990) on October 18th, there are some other movies I might ended up showing but that will depend on how much free time i have on those days (some movies like Invaders from Mars 1986, Night of the Creeps 1986 or Fright Night 1985).

I can't run Death and Dismemberment this coming Thursday but I hope to the next Thurs. However I haven't narrowed down which movies yet.

I should have something for this week and possibly something the week after that if need be.

I'd suggested Dead Snow to you, if you're still without ideas by then.

Dead Snow looks too fun for me to show tbh, I'm feeling somethings brutal bleak and agonizing. I've got one picked out for sure, remains to be seen about the other.

I'm not sure if cud or I (or either of us) will be showing something that week - if cud does I expect it to be more typically spooky, if I do I intend to go for a different kind of horror entirely. Not sure what, though.

Currently for me next week is as planned and then the following week is a TADC: The Last Act special event. The week after that I was thinking of doing The Maxx custom edit “movie” special I’ve been planning if I can get the editing done in time. That definitely has some horror-adjacent themes but I’d also consider other direct horror stuff if anyone has suggestions.

i was thinking more simpsons halloween episodes, maybe ex machina and grudge trilogy again.
