I'd say the first is more an example of Capitalism in general, of which Neo-Liberalism is a form, so I'd say that's not inacurate.
I personally don't think they have any real fear of any of the current USA politicians. I belive that anyone who's gained any sort of political power in this country has been approved by the powers that be. Oh, also: yeah; Newsom is a Neo-Liberal.
