You plugged those into the wrong ports. You're supposed to plug both ends into here:
Don't worry if you have to use a lot of force to get it in there. That's just to make sure it doesn't come out if you trip over it.
What the fuck country uses that socket?
NEMA is an American standard used in North America and parts of Asia. NEMA 10-30 specifically is a dual voltage socket that delivers 120V or 240V depending on whether you use L1/Neutral or L1/L2. It isn’t used anymore though as it isn’t grounded.
The convenient 73 variants insure that you cannot use the wrong plug into the wrong outlet, thus increasing user safety through simple design choices.
Yea there’s too many variations, but I don’t dislike the concept of different designs for different currents. Here in Denmark there is zero difference between a 10A, 13A or 16A 230V outlet, you’ll only know when the fuse blows. Though most outlets in the house is 13A. We also use the CEE standard, but that is mainly for industrial use and sucks to connect and disconnect.
I've got one in my wall and my clothes dryer is plugged into it. My house was built in 1962 and the electrical situation in my house remains the fucking nightmare it was when the house was built, though.
Yea I worded that wrong, should have said it isn’t installed anymore 😅 because plenty is still in use 😊
