It will always surprise me how bad everyone's mental health is.
I would say that its a reflection of the sickness of the times but humans have always had a lust for violence. In any case where we are headed in a direction where peace becomes harder and harder to maintain, and the guys on the alt right have far fewer scruples about killing people.
Yeah maybe people have always been sick deep down but even my cynical ass apparently constantly underestimates the depths of that.
It is very important to remember as an individual that anybody has the power to completely turn off their empathy, and that some people are particularly well practiced at doing it.
