I honestly somewhat hoped that doctors like this were a tiny TINY minority because of both the intellectual curiosity and empathy needed to be a good doctor would practically bar CHUDs from getting anywhere near that field.
I regret to inform you that neither curiosity nor empathy are needed to be a doctor.
You generally do need parents to bankroll your undergrad and internships, which are quite gruelling compared to many other university level employment tracks
MFW there a literal LUXURY JOBS in this hellscape, and some of them are in fields that are NECESSARY for humanity.
It may be, I don't have any data regarding this behavior, this is just my anecdotal experience. I was sharing because the kinds of people who think this way would have certainly reacted the same or worse to women. I hope she was able to find actual care, as I know from other's experience how debilitating chronic pain can be.
