Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). MODERATORS

He continued in a similar, ranty vein, “Don’t believe the Radical Left’s Fake Poll numbers. They are Crooked and Corrupt, just like the Country Destroying Dumocrats are Crooked and Corrupt. VOTE REPUBLICAN FOR GREATNESS IN AMERICA!”

Fresh data from CNN puts his approval at a meager 34 percent, matching his post-Jan. 6 trough, while a new AP-NORC poll has him tied at a post-2017 low of 33 percent. Quinnipiac paints an even grimmer picture, dropping him to a career low of 32 percent.

How can 1/3 of Americans think this child rapist is doing a good job?

[–] stickyprimer@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

Their separation from our reality is total and goes back many years. It’s not like they lived the same life but just this morning decided “nah that child rapist guy is ok.” For years they have been hearing from totally different information sources (I use this term loosely) a totally different narrative. It’s just one partisan witch hunt after another to them. None of it is real.

[–] Carmakazi@piefed.social 69 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Hurting brown people and "communists" is more important than anything else to that 1/3.

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago (1 children)

btw "communists" are just any people who think the health insurance industry is fucked and way too expensive, and that all people deserve to be treated equally, and that the ultra wealthy shouldn't have as much power as they do.

Has nothing to do with actual communism but the far right propaganda machine is trying to poison any of these ideas with a radioactive word to anyone who remembers the red scare in the 1950s (which, btw, was also a complete bullshit witch hunt because workers were getting too many rights at that point and starting to cut into potential profits of the ultra wealthy cancerous tumors).

It's simpler than that. To them, "communists" and "socialists" are the same, and it's anyone that doesn't think businesses should be able to do anything they want, and any person non-conforming to their personal view of "normal" isn't even human. While most will not, some will even admit both of those publicly.

Like "DEI" and "woke," they're just synonyms for "ME NO LIKE!!"

[–] zd9@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

See: "The Case for Fascism" youtube video just released by Steven Crowder. No need to watch it to give them more views, but it's fucking crazy. You can watch all kinds of reaction explainers on it.

[–] halcyoncmdr@piefed.social 7 points 1 day ago

The American Fascist Right was clearly on the wrong side when they publicly called Mister Rogers an "evil, evil man" back in 2007 (notably, 4 years after his death).

He's loud, crass, obnoxious.

He's tacky.

He's petty.

The US version of the return of the repressed

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 23 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I have seen two different people recently with a trump 2028 yard sign, and wearing a trump 2028 shirt. People are evil morons.

[–] radiofreebc@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

No, not people...AMERICANS. The rest of the world is wondering WTF is going on over there.

REPUBLICAN

VOTERS

LOVE

RAPING

CHILDREN

AND

GENOCIDE

Everyone who ever gaslit you that this wasn't the case was wrong.

Republicans are, at their very best, the parents who know their kids are being raped by an adult, and punish the kid for speaking up about it because it embarrasses them and they rather the child rape happen in the dark.

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I tried for like 5 min to figure out what this spelled….

RVLRCAG, obvs. Duh.

[–] LibertyLizard@slrpnk.net 10 points 1 day ago

It's a cult. Most will never stop believing.

[–] dan1101@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Turns out the people who are quickest to say something is unamerican are also the same people who will ignore American values like the Pledge of Allegiance and the US Constitution just to "win."

[–] spaghettiwestern@sh.itjust.works 12 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

The Pledge began as a marketing gimmick:

As branding expert John Gorman outlines, the pledge began with an initiative from The Youth’s Companion, a Boston-based magazine looking to expand beyond its religious roots. To reach a broader audience, the editors launched a nationwide effort to place American flags in public schools, offering them as incentives for new subscriptions.

Not such a great example of "American values", or perhaps since it started as a corporate marketing gimmick it's a perfect example.

[–] wuffah@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

They’re locked in a decades-long cycle of abusive extraction.

American religion, politics, economics, and ecology are reaching the limits of an unsustainable system that only knows how to extract wealth and power. The Soviet Union collapsed for similar reasons. Above all, that form of government collapsed under the weight of propping up The Party’s false reality and its debts to the truth. Real operating principles flow from hard-learned evidence, experience, and wisdom. Societies simply cannot operate indefinitely from convoluted principals engineered to benefit only the few. This is the flaw in the philosophy behind strict conservatism - it’s fundamentally anti-social.

People stick with the devils they know. When long-term planning is negated by the cognitive load induced by navigating abuse, it can be almost impossible to transition to new sustainable modes of thinking and living.

[–] kibblebits@quokk.au 6 points 1 day ago

Because 1/3 of Americans what to rape children.

[–] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

They don’t know or understand what he’s doing. They just know he’s a republican and that’s why they support him.

[–] homes@piefed.world 2 points 1 day ago

They have turds for brains

[–] radiofreebc@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Americans are about the dumbest people you can imagine. Lazy and selfish too. They don't care enough about anything but their own personal situations to do anything meaningful to help society anymore. We are watching an empire crumble...and they simply don't care enough to fix it.

America is the land of the fee, and the home of the slave.

[–] deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz 1 points 1 day ago

Because he wears a red tie or whatever the team colors are

[–] DigDoug@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

He "triggers the libs"

[–] kboos1@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

It's probably those that think it's liberal media lies (I was going to use slander but they probably don't know the meaning of the word) and he's doing a good job at sticking it to the Democrats.
