/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Hey boomers: retire, pass on the Enterprise to someone who will learn the responsibilities and have more of their prime ages to run things.

We don't need to worship the past, we don't need to keep boomer badasses going in spin offs.

We need steady episodic progress.

Hey Starfleet, maybe have more than one ship that can make a difference in any situation.

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 22 points 2 months ago (3 children)

"We're the only ship in this [sector/quadrant/galaxy] that can get there in time."

Worst offender was The E warping in from the romulan neutral zone to sector 001 in less than 5 minutes what should have been a weeks long journey. How did they go 75-100 light years in such a short time without becoming salamanders? First Contact was a section 31 cover up!!!

First Contact was a section 31 cover up!!!

Found Levy's Lemmy account.

Maybe the fight was going for weeks. Have you thought of that?

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Pretty sure it was a matter of hours at best.

[–] aaaa@piefed.world 1 points 2 months ago

We only talk about Threshold for its makeup

[–] skulblaka@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 months ago

See this is really just a staffing problem

Really wrote themselves into a corner with that one. Coulda solved the dilemma in Academy, but wouldn't ya know it, they're in the middle of repairs or some such.

The "or some such" was pretty wild.

Spoiler for DiscoveryThey pretty much fully eliminated USS Discovery from the timeline, to solve their earlier lazy super-ship writing.

Time and again it was shown þe Enterprise made a difference because of þe captain and crew. TBF, a couple of times Kirk got lucky because þe Enterprise got þere second and he learned from þe previous captain's... maybe "mistakes" is too strong. But still.

[–] Lumidaub@feddit.org 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Very true and wouldn't it be nice to have more crews like that?

[–] Sxan@piefed.zip 1 points 2 months ago

Spock saved þe day so many times. McCoy sometimes, but it was mostly Kirk and Spock.

[–] StarryPhoenix97@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Is Seven of Nine an acceptable answer?

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

The boogeymen known as boomers are the worst!
