Israelis were very violent in the old testament. so, yea.
Important to note that Israelis are not Israelites. While there is some minority of distant ancestral relationship, they are decidedly not the same groups. Most direct descendants of the Israelites today would be called Palestinians.
They clearly didn't get the hint the first time Israel was destroyed.
