Why though. It's really nice to fool around here and there. Or to have some relationships to figure out what you really want from a relationship before you meet the right person to settle with. You also develop skills (usually the first time is awkward) so it even becomes more fun, also for your partner. Why withhold yourself of the pleasures in life. It doesn't come with any cost, it's healthy even. The people I know who waited for the right person later confessed they regretted not having fun all those years.
The world is burning, life is only getting harder. The amount of dopamine and endorphins released during sex makes life just a little bit less horrible. It's a part of life, not escaping reality like with drugs.
But if you do wait, don't forget to masturbate at least once a week to prevent prostate cancer.
I think that person was making more of a forever alone type joke. As in he's waiting involuntarily.
Ah check. In that case: go out to parties or bars, join a team sport or a community hobby like D&D, chess club, whatever. I met my recent partner at a metal workshop I go to, for hobbying and learning how to weld. I hate dating apps but there are some decent ones like ok cupid. Or pay some money for a dating agency and let them help you. Staying alone sucks, especially in these depressing days.
I know the struggles to meet people, I suck at dating, flirting and I'm autistic which creates a lot of barriers in my head. But not doing anything ensures you will stay alone.
It is what it is. It took me years to beat my masturbation addiction and I'm not falling in that pit ever again.
