What fool would have possibly thought, under any circumstances, that the US was at all in this for the Iranians? What the fuck's wrong with you if you think that an empire which has long subsisted off of the backs of others would ever care for any people anywhere? They treat their own poor like vermin, to be put down should they be an inconvenience to anyone

People take this clown seriously?

Sooooo many Iranian diaspora believed this. I don't understand how you could trust them knowing anything about the history of your own family's country and what the US and Britain have done there multiple times.

I tried not to drag my own friends down when they were posting propaganda about freedom during the protests or right after the assassination of the Supreme leader by getting into an argument, but all I could do is shake my head to myself. This was so predictable that the US would escalate this into the destruction of the country. Aaaand now they're aiming for civilian infrastructure.

Decreasingly so these days, thankfully.

how the fuck did she get from making a video about how "the west" isn't a coherent thing to that take?

Makes sense if you consider that her "the West isn't a thing" might come from a place closer to "I don't see color" than from a principled "your notion of racial/cultural superiority is built on oppression and lies" position.

Unfortunately a lot of people saw stuff like, "she has a Tabby character (uwu) and knows some leftist jargon" and neglected to notice that such things were just foils used to reinforce her liberalism and shit on leftism. And she kind of reinforced such misunderstandings by adopting an ambiguous and "philosophic" (5D chess philosophy) air that people bowed down to as lofty and intellectual (I am very mysterious!). Aesthetics with no clearly expressed principles is truly the modern breeding ground for see-what-you-want-and-defend-it-to-the-death online fandom.

yeah tabby was never her thesis, even when tabby was actually correct and contra was wrong

She got a little cash and fame and lost perspective because she never had any solid theory undergirding her beliefs
