Trump used the name 'John Barron' to 'leak' information about how rich he was and that sort of hype material to reporters in the 80's, he had to stop using it after a court made him admit it was him. To Donny it's a way of naming his kid after himself, and I bet after seeing how Don jr. turned out he really wanted another stab at that

Most of our names are either titles or descriptors if you go back far enough. I'd be surprised if this one hasn't been used plenty of times before.

If it hasn't that means Trump did something unique which I find difficult to imagine.
