Most people don’t know how to join the massive local signal chat. Change don’t happen among small groups of people. As evidenced by… gestures broadly
But what am I doing, right? Attack the one asking for change haha. Gimme gimme
You get banned from one politics community, immediately I find you in another one.
I don’t stop talking about fighting maga, right.
... by unrelentingly bashing the efforts of people actually fighting maga, don't forget the context.
I don’t tell them to stop. I ask for more. You’re just stuck in this lemmy hive mind where no one can say anything without listing all of their own accomplishments.
If I say: “government bad”
You’ll say: “I agree”
If I say: “let’s do something”
You’ll say: “what the fuck are you doing troll?!”
Nah.
Let’s do something about fascism.
Already working on it, thanks!
No no. That's not enough. We need you to start detailing legit criminal plans openly. I mean I need you to I'm just one person...
Attending protests, helping moderate ICE response groups and volunteering with immigration defense hotlines aren't illegal at all! I really encourage you to look up ones in your local area and see if you can help out too - even just bringing coffee to the volunteers helps a ton, especially with how cold it is right now.
What are you doing?
Well lately I've been dabbling in calling out an obvious troll so their defeatist rhetoric doesn't ensnare well-meaning folks unaware of who they're engaging with.
Seems to be working out pretty well for me, too.
So nothing to actually stop fascism. Got it.
Fascists never seem to think the efforts to combat them are effective. Weird how that works.
Do you think my effort to combat you is effective?
Oh my gosh you actually went with "no u" again?
What?
And now it's devolved to "what?"-posting. I think we're done here.
I learned that from you.
Yeah, we're for sure done here.
Yeah but you keep coming back. So…
The opaqueness is on purpose, the rapid response groups are already in the thousands and are unvetted. The opaqueness means only the determined folks will find it
Oh so not the other 99% of the population right? Got it.
I’m sure this is very effective.
Gee... For someone wanting to "do something" about fascism, you sure are seeding a lot of doubt. And don't tell me you're just being "realistic". None of what Trump's goons are doing is realistic.
Doubt? How? Maybe it’s just your interpretation.
Me: fight harder
You: why you doubt?
Help me out here.
How? Are you apart of any movement? What are you doing to prevent this at a local level? Anything? Give us a clue.
Why do I have to explain myself to have an opinion?
If you must know, I’m going through that ICE list to identify where they all live and their next of kin. Something I’m pretty decent at. My local level isn’t an issue right now, and so I’m spending that free time doing what I can with the skills I have. I’m sure they’ll be in my area eventually at this rate.
So is it an issue for you or not?
My area does not have ice like Minnesota, is what I mean.
Do I qualify yet? Or was I never going to qualify, and you just wanted to argue?
That’s what I thought. You don’t care what I do, you just want to yell.
The rr groups in Minneapolis are incredibly effective. It's a role model for abolishing police.
I’m happy with the turnout in that city, but ICE is still there, so I’d argue it has not abolished it yet
I looked at your profile and history just to see if you ever actually said anything you're doing. Looks like you're doing a whole lot of nothing but being a whiny troll, yeesh.
Which is more than you!
Remind them that they're ramping it up just in time for the midterms.
Are we still doing elections? ;)
Yes, because thankfully the founding fathers made one smart decision by providing absolutely no legal mechanism for cancelling them.
Trump can try - he will - but he won't get very far. Even the Supreme Court won't back him on this one (the exact 'why' of that is a lot to get into).
He's going to be better off trying to cheat the midterms than cancel them. In fact, his cancel talk is probably working against him, because it's taking away from the urgency of figuring out how to commit the levels of fraud they need to commit.
And the thing about election fraud is the more of it you do, the harder it is to conceal. That's more opportunities to fuck up, more people who have to stay silent. So the more people vote, the harder it becomes for them to cheat. If they only have to nudge the needle that's easy. If they have to bury it, that's way harder.
Achieving the levels of fraud you see in Russia doesn't happen overnight. You have to extensively reprogram a population en masse to accept those levels of blatant fraud. Trump isn't there yet.
I'm not saying there's nothing to be scared of. I'm saying the fight is winnable, if you don't give up.
Trump's inability to shut up really is coming to bite him now.
USPS timestamps, SAVE Act, ICE at the ballot box.
That’s how it will happen
OK? I don't disagree, those do appear to be the main vehicles through which they will attempt to depress the Dem vote.
But I'm not sure what point you're making, unless you're just agreeing with me while adding specifics?
