In some alternate universe - somebody (a "radical" relative or something?) educates the very young me on copaganda avant la lettre. This happens before the SWAT tv series is broadcast in 1975 and I bet by high school I realize leftism is the answer. In our universe though - I thought SWAT was a very cool show. And many decades had to pass before I reached leftism.

Google actually worked. I wondered how old the term copaganda is. This site claims the first known usage is from 2003.

Copaganda

The origins of the term “copaganda” (a portmanteau of “cop” and “propaganda”) are unclear. At present, the word appears to have been first used by Greg Beato, who wrote in 2003 that “mostly Hollywood has simply churned out malignant copaganda that glamorizes police brutality and normalizes the idea that the only good cop is a bad cop.”
