Eh... Kind of? In my experience most people under 40 in Japan are completely apolitical. Like to the point where they wouldn't really understand the difference between the left and right.
They have some of the worst voting turnout in the world, and the older class typically makes all the decisions in regards to government.
They are socially conservative, but mostly because the younger generations are completely disconnected from politics.
That’s how the west got where it is now. The majority no giving a shit opens the door for the minority/nutters to do what they want.
Being “apolitical” means you support the current system/party. If you didn’t you’d be political.
