This rally cry (to dismantle DHS) sounds exactly like the kind of popular policy position the Democrats always take when they are out of power. Then, when we give them the power to act, they refuse to implement it (usually in service of some nonsense like “mending”, “coalition building”, or “returning to normalcy”).
Not even when they get in power.
Dems are already pushing back against people saying 'Abolish ICE'
Yep, so if voting is still on the menu, we need to vote out the incumbent establishment dems who refuse to remediate these state terror programs.
Schumer and Jeffries won’t even support defunding ICE. Primary these dipshits while you still can New York!
Installing new politicians in the DNC will change nothing until those Junior members are confirmed to not be a threat to the current power structure they're not given any power that would threaten that power structure
Bro, you can’t vote your way out of fascism. This is tyranny these are not normal times anymore normal things do not always apply for circumstances the courts the laws they’re not gonna save us. The sooner people realize that the sooner we can collectively do something.
Because, let's face it, democrat and republican are two faces of the same coin.
It's the same model across the western world. Two party systems dominate because it's the easiest model for the oligarchs to control us with.
We need a third Socialist Party
Wealthy Democratic Party donors/leaders need the military in the streets putting down populist uprisings as much as Republican ones do. Often they are the same people.
Absorbed into the FBI and CIA.
Yeah, that's about the size of it. Of course the alternative is electing out-and-proud Nazis, so I guess its the choice that we get.
We do have a better choice, and that's more grassroots, state and local involvement. The Democrat party is just a container, we can pour out the contents and refill it with something that hasn't gone bad.
But in order to do so, we need to destroy what's holding the contents inside, which is years of state power and representation absolutely tuning the fuck out of anything that isn't the 4-year WWE spectacle and circus. Imagine if we got involved enough that we could repeat what happened in New York in every major city, every governor seat, every state congressperson or senator.
We would kick the goddamn legs out from under this entire rotten system without having to throw a single molotov cocktail. But this approach requires getting a lot of people with the attention-spans of retriever puppies to learn some boring shit and actually leave the computer and socialize.
