Do y'all add various warm, aromatic spices to y'all's egg salad sandos?

Or is your French toast bland as hell and covered in mayo?

[–] atomicorange@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Curry egg salad is lovely.

Mayo is egg and oil, so yeah my french toast is kinda covered in it.

I feel like scrambled eggs and mayonnaise may be a bigger winner here

[–] ngdev@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

bread is flour and leavening agent, so yeah my dick is covered in bread

your french toast is not covered in mayo bc it has the ingredients of mayo. thats like the whole point of this post lmfao

[–] atomicorange@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yes that’s the whole point. Beginning of the comment thread was implying that they have different ingredients, no spices in egg salad and no mayo in french toast. They have the same ingredients. Oil, egg, bread. Not sure what you’re trying to argue against or why you dipped your dick in flour.

it was a joke that i have a yeasty penis. its not mayo tho and that was the only point. and acting like bc it has the same ingredients its the same is pretty stupid. mayonnaise is a completely different experience and you know that

[–] Glytch@lemmy.world 3 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Again it's not mayo it has the ingredients of mayo. Having the same ingredients but being different is the whole point of the post.

[–] ngdev@lemmy.zip 1 points 20 hours ago

we're saying the same shit

[–] FishFace@piefed.social 10 points 1 day ago

French toast does not have to have sugar or cinnamon on it. Savoury french toast (or I grew up calling it eggy bread) is still delicious so you can fuck off with that "bland" accusation!

[–] DokPsy@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Mayo is basically just whipped egg so it's not even a factor. Maybe not the same spices but you could, if you wanted

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Mayo is an emulsification of egg and oil.

Simply whipping egg results in merangue.

[–] qarbone@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (3 children)

It's egg whipped with a large amount of fats. And whatever other flavoring you like. If nothing else, the amount of extra butter/oil is untenable.

And going the other way: you add an "appropriate" amount of cinammon and nutmeg to your now-Christmas egg salad, and let me know how it goes for you.

Eggnog salad sandwich.

[–] nightofmichelinstars@sopuli.xyz 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The OP said some ingredients; it didn't mention same quantities of ingredients.

[–] qarbone@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

yeah, if you wanted to be pedantic, you could add a single crumb each of the various spices that go on French toast to egg salad.

this whole thing is vaguely worded

[–] RecursiveParadox@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Ya know, if offset by some sharp peppers and curry, the cinnamon and (tiny bit of) nutmeg could work!

[–] qarbone@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

As I said it, I was also imterested in how you could make that work. But I'm not culinarily skilled enough to conceive of anything.

It feels like it would become more of an art piece, a conscientious objection to the orthodoxy of egg salad, than what (I think) people expect from an egg salad [sandwich]. Which is to say: egg and mayo, slightly sweet and creamy. I do like the idea of like a deviled egg salad sando tho.
