ELI5: why is there no tobacco tea?
Nicotine isn't really easy to take in. It causes massive stomach upset, plus it affects the mucus membranes. You would barf and feel like total shit trying to drink it. I don't know all the scientific specifics, but yeah. I do know though that there is a liquor made in part with tobacco. Dunno how that works, but I'm sure the specific methods of fermentation and proofing must kill whatever would affect you in such a way.
