Good video. It's maddening to see people in various socialist spaces (even here) fall for this shit so easily when all the signs are there.
The Syria activism and Dubai wedding, not justifiable. Though I honestly do leave space for someone to have been a clueless liberal in their past. I think that most people on this site have themselves grown up in relatively privileged circumstances, if only in consequence of living in the insulated Western world.
I could forgive her if she publicly acknowledged her former liberalism, the insufficiency of her activism in the wake of what happened in Syria.
However. The Mamdanis being trust fund kids doesn’t per se disqualify them, if they genuinely devote themselves to the cause of the working class. Class collaboration has to be accepted when it benefits the working class. It’s good to be skeptical about their background though, and of course factor it together with the totality their present-day views and actions.
