do you prefer veterans who served in noncombatant roles?

[–] MF_COOM@hexbear.net 17 points 6 days ago (1 children)

[–] roux@hexbear.net 8 points 6 days ago

i prefer veterans who leak evidence of other veterans' crimes. HRT is optional.

[–] DylanMc6@hexbear.net 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

so trans whistleblower veterans?

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 3 points 5 days ago

i'll update my assessment if there's ever a second cool living veteran.

Combatant or not, they're still agents of imperialism, subjugation, oppression. I don't give a shit if they held and aimed the guns used to mass murder hundreds of millions of people the world over or did some paperwork to facilitate that mass murder, they're still complicit and deserve hatred and scorn rather than respect and celebration.

what if you get a job as a cook and "accidentally" give all the troops dysentery

[–] QuietCupcake@hexbear.net 2 points 5 days ago

There are always hypothetical edge cases, sure. So while we're considering those, I'd look even more favorably on a cook who "accidentally" fed the CO's (and as far on up the chain of command that would eat it) a hefty order of fatal botulism.

who do you think the troops would be replaced with - nonviolent peacekeepers?

you're missing an important piece, you may still have some propaganda stick on ya. no shame, we're all shaped by it until we break out.

the troops = bad because they kill for a country that oppresses the entire world. OP isn't advocating to reinvent the soldier cuz you don't replace the troops, you replace the system that makes them "necessary".

problem is, see, that capitalism requires an oppressed minority to function, and the United States uses its military to create and maintain that minority, that 'global South'.

who do you think would replace the troops?

if you ask a question pertaining to what i wrote previously, we may continue speaking. otherwise your learning journey must be aided by someone with more patience

A people's liberation army

[–] QuietCupcake@hexbear.net 2 points 5 days ago

What are you even talking about? Why are you assuming they have to be "replaced" with anything? In an ideal world, the US military would cease to exist. Whatever "replacement" there is for US troops would be a proletarian military put in place to liquidate the US military and prevent it from reforming.
