They probably delay it for six months or something
Iirc it's basically delayed over ten years or something insane so you get like 10% of it each year. Barely even a bonus really.
At that point you might as well just call the whole salary a "signing bonus"
oh so they're the one entity in america on to the plan of "abuse the sign on bonus and fuck off" huh, really sus tbh
It's not just them. Almost every sign on bonus I've seen has strings like that. Either it's paid out over 8-12 quarters, or you have to pay it back if your leave/get fired in a year.
