Kinda fucked up ngl. Usually when I go overseas I buy a bunch of chocolates or even mozzarella to give to family since it's much harder to get over there
At least according to the article, that's exactly what the diplomats are doing
Makes sense, Jordan / Palestine isn't even as economically isolated (well, before 2023) and I'd bring multiple checked bags just for common goods and especially OTC medicines. Bringing the kirkland brand ibuprofen made you look like a king in grandma's eyes.
That isn't new or rare for diplomats to do and is generally seen as good.
