You'd think that at least some company in the US would manufacture "plus sized" body armour. It seems like the majority of their cops and brownshirts would appreciate it and surely they'd make bank.
The armor isn't for your gut or pelvis. It's for your heart lungs and upper chest. Those are, in my paramedic friend's words, "the off switch area".
