it feels inconsistent and I don't know how to defend the fact that I'm against the death penalty, but at the same time I have a firm conviction that if you own slaves, then you should die

no exceptions, no bullshit, owning slaves equals death and that's it

The death penalty ™️ is a power given to the legal system. Which should be opposed. Some times people just need to go though. That is different

I feel similarly about being a prison abolitionist. I don't think prison should exist, but a part of me is happy they are there....

Prisons should be rehabilitation centers in practice, not these crimes against humanity in the US. However there is no rehabilitating the couple in the OP wall

Death is an escape. IMO if you’re guilty of a heinous crime, you should live a long life in solitary where you can reflect on what you did.
