i have worked for almost a decade in market research and i suddenly feel morally compelled to use my professional knowledge to infiltrate a focus group like this and get "death to the yankee menace" printed in the NYT

they wouldn’t print it, there’s no way that they don’t edit out politically inconvenient opinions. These articles are like slightly gussied up street interview videos from some random youtuber.
