Went to my local college town coffee shop and noticed one of their bathroom sinks was running continuously. I used my dad knowledge to figure out it was the hot side stem leaking and shut the hot water supply valve off, so the sink works now they just don't have hot water. I explained the problem to all the teenage baristas and felt very competent and smart.

Sorry just wanted to toot my own horn.

I can only assume that you are posting this from the checkout line at Home Depot where you found the correct o-ring for the valve cartridge and are going back to finish the job.

I'm mostly kidding, that's pretty advanced levels of Dad insandiness.

Hahaha, no I not that dedicated to being handy.

I did help the barista write a text to the shop owner explaining the problem and telling them what to do.
