Spoiler: there were. Though in Russia and generally northern Eurasia mosquitos aren't that much of a problem. Ticks are worse.
I hate mosquitos with a passion but ticks are worse imo.

Not that I've seen in around 30 or so years and not that I've heard from anyone with 70+ years of life experience up here.
When I was out in south dakota I got bit by a tick for the first time in over 20 years. Fuck those things.
Well you're always welcome to live tick-free in my neck of the woods, if you don't mind the clouds of mosquitos.

I think some of them actually hibernate or some shit.
There aren't ticks yet. Just wait until climate change allows them to migrate north 🙃
