I'd been using boost back when it was usable for reddit and just followed the app over to lemmy. I haven't used any other to compare but I don't have any complaints about boost. The look and feel outside of hexbear is very polished and has kept me loyal, you should give it a try!
I don't think there's an app that handles them well yet. I can see them on boost but they're not appropriately sized. Most hexbears browse the site on their mobile or desktop web browser.
I was referred to one by a friend personally, she gave me the name of the person that helped her find a job when she was unemployed. Apparently if your resume is shiny enough they will come to you via linkedin. Other than that there's looking up firms or individual recruiters on google or linkedin that have good relationships in your desired industry/locale, giving them your resume, and hoping for the best.
Linkedin job posts have a free tier which means a posting can be left up indefinitely whether the search is active or not. Indeed posts cost a minimum $5/day, so a given company would likely take the listing down if their search is not active. I've heard that Linkedin is actively resume harvesting, for what reason I don't really know (maybe training some resume AI?) so it could just be a rumor, but I have a chip on my shoulder about Linkedin anyways for trying to make a pay-to-win job search platform.
Whatever you do, don't apply at the individual job board. Go to the company's careers page to see if its even still posted and apply there. For whatever that's worth (not much in my experience).
Find a recruiter. Just started working with one and she told me that companies (in my industry at least) will work directly with a recruiting company to find talent, because public job postings these days get like hundreds of applicants that might not even be qualified for the job. I am now convinced that this is how most hiring is done and just going around doing a bunch of job applications by hand is a complete waste of time and energy.

Liberalism essentially encompasses the entirety of what is broadly considered acceptable within western politics, which is why you'll sometimes hear the term 'western liberal democracies', but for our purposes we are usually referring to the less immediately fascist end of the spectrum ~~(liberalism always eventually decays into fascism due to the utter disempowerment of any force with material interests in resisting the pull of fascism, but nevermind that for now)~~ that like to consider themselves progressive because they engage positively with identity politics.
They aren't truly progressive because they don't fundamentally challenge the systems and power structures that enable these kinds of political developments (loss of bodily autonomy, marriage equality, affirmative gender care, etc) and the proliferation of the "culture war" in the first place, are very often minimizing and hostile towards those who do take a principled stance against these systems. The extent of their political understanding is largely bound by establishment liberal media that has a large stake in the continuation that very same system that is very clearly threatened by any real material social progress. This contradiction often leads to them defending those systems and power structures rather than the marginalized groups that a liberal would purport to defend, and lashing out against those to the left of them for not "knowing their place" in a system that has for a very long time been ratcheting itself towards fascism.
