Check out LineageOs. The point of the phone os is to allow you to keep using your phone for as long as you want. Bit of a pain to initally setup though

Distro hopping gets addictive and honestly if you're happy with where you are i wouldnt recommend you switch anything.

Buuuuut if you're going to do it anyways EndeavourOS. Its arch for begginers you can branch out to more complex things if you want but the install is painless and works out the box. Arch is in general VERY customizable but its a double edged sword so having guardrails during the setup is helpful.

Our fields are close enough that i can comment on this.

When I'm looking at your resume here's what i gather about you. Student, with no relevant job experience who has done school projects that might indicate alignment with what we're doing.

The problem with resumes like these are that I have no proof that you're capable and its not fair of me to expect proof because that comes with experience.

What I usually do is look for passion projects. Anything that indicates that you have a genuine interest in the field that i can follow up on. Then I'll talk to you in an interview about that to confirm your problem solving skills.

Pretty much everything else can be taught.

Lets say you configured a nas server at your house or self hosted something like pihole or jellyfin (career specific) that stands put way more than a class project.

This actually highlights my issue with it. Both this and racism feel the same to me. Even though I aknowledge that they clearly aren't.

End of the day I'm still being judged for something i didn't do and wouldn't ever do. And that sucks.

But seriously fuck my feelings, do what you have to to stay safe

Plumbing. I could live without almost every modern comfort but a flushable toilet

Rate my plan (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

Push up, pull up, leg raise , and squat progressions daily at about 40% effort. Two hours between each set as per grease the groove. Ideal because I can run the routine in between breaks at work. Did the math on the reps and they equated to what I would be doing if I was on a 3 day split.

This one surprises me. I had always thought Quebec had a strong cultural identity. How do you see it happening?

[-] ndondo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 24 points 7 months ago

EndeavourOs makes it super simple too

Seriously how is this technology?

[-] ndondo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 7 months ago

It is. But in your defence at this point it only matters when something goes wrong. And that's getting pretty rare.

I think it's why there's such a clear divide between people who "just use Linux" and those who don't. Modern computers hide almost all information that would let you figure stuff out on your own and Linux makes you figure stuff out like once a month.

But all that means is that your choices are more and more limited. And it's how Microsoft is able to sneak such predatory practices into their OS. You can't go anywhere else

God I hate whataboutism. Because no really what about it? Why are you comfortable taking such blatantly hypocrytical stances arrrrg. It just seems like a way to ignore valid critiques

Hey everyone. I'm curious what books you've found to be useful in your own lives and if you have any reccomendations for us.

Mine would be the Compound Effect by Darren Hardy which talks about consistent small actions leading to momentum/habit and driving massive amounts of change.
