That's how I watch it as well. I think the benefit of the YT clips is that the editors crop in news articles to bolster his claims w/ factual evidence. It's like a built-in fact ~~checker~~ confirmer

I agree re: China. Terrible takes.

I'm a fan and catch YT recaps of topics he covers that I find interesting.

I will say though that he, as a political influencer, is beholden to his target demographic in the same way that Fox News captivates/gets held captive by its more fervent supporters. It's a crude analogy, but my understanding is that the ideals of journalism is to follow the news, while influencers follow the engagement.

It is interesting getting his insights and hearing a knowledgeable person speak on the issues, but it isn't the same as getting news from a true blue journalist imo

I agree 100%. Liberals retweeting how Elon is losing money is actually making him money

There's an irony seeing Redditors creating threads and complaining about it as if they did anything during the API-gate saga

Yes. Widespread nihilism certainly will not have any negative consequences

I see what you did there

OTA antennae for sports.

For streaming, I usually watch it on my laptop so that I can have easier options to skip and replay.

My desktop is connected via HDMI so I have that as an option but I rarely take advantage of it.

I live by myself so I don't have as much pushback as you likely would FYI

Earlier this month I finally disconnected the wifi for my 7 year old Roku TV. I miss being able to turn it on w/ voice activation but I'll trade that in for my privacy

Probably not for me as I'm not interested in a summarizing tool, but I'm not against AI in general.

OAN, I think over time, the community will see that AI was a bubble, but in the same way that the internet was a bubble back in the day.

"After much consideration, we have decided to move Platformer off of Substack. Over the next few days, the publication will migrate to a new website powered by the nonprofit, open-source publishing platform Ghost. If you already subscribe to Platformer and wish to continue receiving it, you don’t need to do anything: your account will be ported over to the new platform."

They've started inserting a subtle ad as the first result instead of the actual app you're searching for.

This has to have been a change over the last month or two I feel like?

I'm having to reprogram myself to view the first result as irrelevant. Really makes me want to increase the F-Droid alternatives that I use.
