The aerospace manufacturer, which has already consolidated its datacenter estate and uses services like Google Workspace, now wants to move key on-premises applications including ERP, manufacturing execution systems, CRM, and product lifecycle management (aircraft designs) to the cloud.

"I need a sovereign cloud because part of the information is extremely sensitive from a national and European perspective," Catherine Jestin, Airbus's executive vice president of digital, told The Register. "We want to ensure this information remains under European control."

Right? This is confusing.

Go for it. Buy a portable DVD player with a portable screen and head phones to watch movies. Buy a clock, a dumb phone, a little portable game device. Buy a magazine with nudie pictures. Buy a camera and take it to a photo place so get physical copies of your dick pics. Mail them to your friends. Buy a megaphone so you can yell racist things to your neighbors.

All of this is still possible right now. No smart phone needed.

We are taking this flight over for Jesus,” the man, identified as 24-year-old Singaporean Jonathan Neo, captioned an IG reel showing the video. The video was originally posted on TikTok and Instagram April 9 by his teammate Jack Jensz Jr, but went viral this weekend.

SANFORD, Fla. — A 23-year veteran and former spokesperson for the Sanford Police Department was arrested Tuesday after being paid thousands of dollars for allegedly fake off-duty work shifts.

Ronny Neal, an investigator in SPD’s Professional Standards unit, was charged with 79 counts of official misconduct. That’s one for each alleged instance of fraudulently submitting timesheets containing off-duty work at Lofts at Eden apartments between October 2023 and July 2024

My wife is a medical professional who works in this space and when I told her this joke, she shared that this is not how epidurals work at all.

It doesn't go into the blood stream. It only effects that area. And it wouldn't go to the brain.

She says it's possible it's a psychosomatic reaction. But leaning towards it being a lie.

Shame, solid joke.

Same! I don't know if this is the answer. But at least it's something.

Back in my day, we had Big Brother Big Sister programs. But those programs were overwhelmed by need even when I was young.

And as kids (boys AND girls) turn to the internet and AI for direction about the opposite sex and how to treat each other, we need something to provide a another resource.

They're absolutely trying to find use cases for their "solution".

I haven't used a vending machine in years (except in Japan). And so I for one welcome AI vending machines so I can fuck with them and get free stuff. Or until some vandals break shit.

Users voted to restrict Anthropic's Claude to its own channel, but Jason Clinton, Anthropic’s Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and a moderator in the Discord, overrode them. According to members of this Discord community who spoke with 404 Media on the condition of anonymity, the Discord that was once vibrant is now a ghost town. They blame the chatbot and Clinton’s behavior following its launch.

“To me it shines a light on the god-complex that AI C-suite members seem to have, and their willingness to ignore people's consent and opinions as they bulldoze their way of pushing AI,” Reese, a member of the community, told 404 Media in the aftermath.

“There are a lot more people out here living in abject poverty than what people like to think or admit to. You voted for this—and now we’re paying the price.”

Employees learned of the cuts on Monday in a video message from Michael Adams, CEO of BlueOval SK.

Adams announced the transition would mean “the end of all BlueOval SK positions in Kentucky.”

Hey we may be dumb, and we may be exposed to constant propaganda, but...

What was the third thing you said?

Democrats if they ever get the white house again: "Well, we better keep the plaques. We don't want to upset them."

I pay for insurance and then pay copay.

And then I pay a school tax and pay for school lunch and fees.

And my health insurance doesnt cover teeth so I have that as separate.

And I pay a tax on my food and then if it's a specific type of food, I pay a tax on that.

I also pay taxes and yet my friends pay $2800 to put their kids in a day care.

Honestly I'm trying to figure out content the "Business" Lemmy community could use.

People and business?

Business and the economy?

Company changes?

Thinkpads running Linux for the staff.

We use open-source. Our own on-prem servers running Linux. A lot of our software is also open source. Our git, our office suite, our video and chat... All open source.

We just got rid of our Google Cloud connections a few months ago, but we're still reliant on aws, cloudflare, etc.

I haven't had a Reddit account in two years. Unless they learn how to ban my router.

I'm okay with never stepping foot in Australia. They check your devices when you land and I've never been okay with that.
