As well as contributing to the roles for the new 2022 ground-effect era, he was also involved in the creation of the all-new cars that are coming for 2026.

But with the chassis part of those future rules now all but signed off, and due to be published at the start of next month, it is understood that Symonds decided a while ago to call time at the F1 organisation.

Although there has been no official announcement, it is understood that F1 staff were informed of the development on Monday. Symonds has gone on gardening leave with immediate effect.

This headline is technically correct, but it's clearly meant to cause outrage. The headline "Trump's Bible only includes the bill of rights" isn't going to get as much attention.

Manufacturing outrage obfuscates Trump's actions that people should actually be outraged about.

The FIA is planning to impose harsher penalties for Formula 1 drivers deliberately cutting the track to keep a position in the wake of Kevin Magnussen's antics in Miami.

Motorsport.com understands the FIA is keen to start handing out drive-throughs in such scenarios, which solves the issue immediately because it forces the offending drivers to pit and cede track position within two laps.

The escalating punishment would be handed out in case of repeat offences during the same race, when the stewards suspect drivers are intentionally going off track to maintain their position.

The contempt between Formula 1 and its governing body has softened, with both sides announcing Wednesday they’ve agreed “to commit to a strategic plan for the future of F1.”

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem told The Associated Press at the Miami Grand Prix earlier this month that his relationship with F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali “has never been better” and the two were working to further strengthen an alliance.

Described as Entourage set in the world of Formula 1 racing, Downforce follows what happens when the heiress to a dynastic racing team is thrust back into the family business and the hard choices she must make about the future of the team and her family’s legacy.

Any plant can grow with "artificial" light. It's just a matter of generating the correct light spectrum for a plant. There's nothing special about the light coming from the sun.

I've messed around with Udio and Suno quite a bit and I think Udio is a bit better. Especially with generating vocals without an auto-tune sound. Although I don't think it responds to prompts quite as well.

I was pretty nervous about the show, but it far exceeded my expectations. It did a great job staying mostly true to the FO universe, and striking a balance between the serious, dark humor, and absurd tones of the games.

Hopefully we get another Fallout game sometime this decade.

The bill forbids "intentional injection, release, or dispersion" of chemicals into the air.

Instead it broadly prohibits "affecting temperature, weather, or the intensity of the sunlight".

This bill is obviously based in ignorance, but from an envirinmental/pollution standpoint this seems like a good thing. It's not their intention, but it sounds like it would protect the atmosphere from potential real polluters.

Edit: based in ignorance in the sense that some people supported the bill to ban "chem trails" (an ignorant position). Not in the sense that weather manipulation isn't real.

Not sure if it's okay to post this since it's an ad. I just thought it was hilarious.

Red Bull tech chief Adrian Newey insists that more “subtle” elements of the RB20 design are actually the key to its gains in performance, rather than the particularly noticeable visual changes that have drawn attention given the change in concept from its predecessor.

Tracks with what Mercedes was saying. Their issues weren't with the components you see on TV.

Too bad many states will just refuse the money.

I understand that the US is likely vulnerable to cyber attack, but is a widespread attack by China likely in the immediate future?

I mean, let's say China does disable infrastructure, banking, etc in a coordinated and widespread attack. But then what? An attack on that scale is an act of war, and I doubt China would be willing to follow up with military action at this time.

Perhaps this is more of a preventive MAD type strategy? Essentially a warning to the US to not mess with China, or else these are the consequences.

The boomers aren't a monolith. It's millions of people with different experiences and actions throughout their lives.

Did a large number vote/legislate themselves into this problem? Yes. Are millions of others also along for the ride despite not supporting this system? Also, yes.

The issues in this article aren't even applicable to boomers exclusively. Gen-X is a big portion of the population mentioned in the article. This isn't a generational problem, it's a class problem.

And don't forget the fact that if these systemic issues aren't addressed, we'll all face the consequences.

CEO of the powerful trade group PhRMA—Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America—said in a statement that the group is "deeply concerned with the FDA’s reckless decision to approve Florida’s state importation plan" and claimed importation "poses a serious danger to public health."

Yeah right. These Canadian drugs will definitely pose a health risk to Americans. Suuuuure. They're definitely not worried they'll have less money to line their pockets with.

If you owe the bank $100, that's your problem. If you owe the bank $1.1 trillion, that's the bank's problem.

Americans are now paying an average of $12,182 to own and operate a brand-new vehicle

Misleading title.

So new cars have gotten more expensive overall, people are buying more expensive new cars, and the cost of credit for new cars has gone up. In other words, don't buy a brand new car.

This is amazing news. I've really enjoyed Lemmy and this F1 community, but unfortunately I'm going to have to jump ship back to reddit. The appeal of these collectable avatars is just too much.

Think about how much money they will be worth when Alpine win the championship after completing their 5 year plan!
