People travel to China because there is nice stuff to see and great food to try. While US doesn't have the great food they have the nice stuff to see and are still way better than China.
Ziggurat
Realistically speaking, she's most likely somehow sponsored by big pharma (Well considering that it's imaging, it's more the interesection between big tech and big pharma, not sure where to put health division of GE or Siemens) , and cancer treatment/dianostic bring them a lot of money so they like cancer research.
Bicycle lanes are always a chicken/egg problem, If you build safe bicycle lanes (and not just drop some painting on the road without changing anything else) you'll drag more cyclist, which in the end let more space on the road for people who really need it. It's annoying for the car-drivers, but it's not like car aren't annoyance for the rest of the population either. Too many cities gave the priority to car in absurd proportions.
Regarding traffic code, it's a complicated topic, there is some minor changes of rules which are really making cycling more efficient, I am thinking about the right-turn on red or the dual way bike-lane in single-way street (when technically possible). On the other hand, some cyclists indeed ignore every possible regulation, all while not having the experience to understand what's safe and what isn't
My hot take is that we get full automated commercial plane before single pilot.
Single pilot means that there is no way to avoid an air Berlin like mass murder (and being locked alone in a cockpit doesn't sounds great for mental health). No pilot means less risk to have such a scenario
Sure we need risk analysis (accident caused by humans versus humans preventing accident) and most likely newer ATC protocols, and some upgrade in equipments, but I doubt there it a major obstacle.
Can we do like Trump does with F35 and brick them if they use them against EU interest. I feel like Erdogan isn't much better than Putin. Pretty sure he faps on invading Greece and keeping Cyprus
Welcome back,
You'll see the same communities/magazine no matter what's the instance you use. However, some delay due to federation is possible, it's espacially a problem with .world due to their relative weight.
The local feed means you'll see post from your instance, which may-be interesting as you'll see content you like if you choose a thematic instance, but it's not a blocking feature.
Then there is a bunch of weird instance, like grad where right-winger are role-playing being leftist by shit-posting on how much they love Kim il sun or Vladimir Putin. these are defederated by most big instances and you won't see their content (and believe me, you miss nothing)
Just a couple of years back, you would get replacable batteries, at least from "phone shops" with dedicated tools.
Designing a water tight enclosure which can be opened to replace a battery isn't exactly rocket science. It doesn't need to be as easy as a fairphone.
Sure some brands will do malicious conpliance and guess what, people will bux from other brands.
Location is the most iportant, meaning that the realistic option is appartment

Can get fresh breakfast on the week-end with a 5 minutes walk, and do not need to plan a weekly grocery trip when I have everything down the stairs
-
Do not need to drive home if I get a drink
-
Have access to tons of activities within a reasonable distance, no matter whether I want to learn Korean, watch stand-up comedy or listen to underground heavy metal

Kids can quickly get some autonomy compared to suburb where road are full of cars and parents need a car to go every where.
Considering the low wage in French Academia, and the lack of permanent position (Which used to be a benefit offsetting lower wages) I am not sur it'll attract that much person.
But still a great initiative.
It's great. However, from the french ministère des armées Link I count 3 types of satellites for a grand total around 8 including two dedicated to satcom. (assuming this is up to date, and that all informations are public) It's not a bad number of a "medium-sized nation" but unless other European nation have the same capacities it's definitely not enough to provide 24/7 intelligence to Ukraine
According to wikipedia, there is rougly 2.5 Billions of Christians with half of them being catholic, moreover the Catholic church is a relatively centralised religion giving a lot of power to the Pope compared to other religious leaders. So I can't think about many religious leader having that much global authority.
I Wouldn't be surprised that the death of Ayattolah Khamanei will also quite a big news. However, while pretending to be "a religious leader" he is also the de facto political leader of Iran
