This is why top level politician travel with a suite of translator and don't just speak a common language like English/French/German. There is a lot of nuances in the very specific wording like refuse to rule out or does not excude. However, without having the exact quote in french, and an experienced translator who get these nuance, it ends up lost in translation

Bases on the news, a basic kit is provided. What worries me is the only 2 polo shirts part. (but a blazer jacket because they have their priorities right). I can't see how family will keep them clean without buying extra ones. Not a problem for kids from middle class and above family who have access to a dryer and an afford a couple of "same colour polo shirt" which "should do the trick as part of an uniform assuming the principal isn't a asshole). But if you're from a poor family, where clothes need 3 days to dry on a rack. They'll be the stinky dirty kid

Out of curiosity, what's the difference between mbin and kbin ?

[-] Ziggurat@fedia.io -3 points 10 months ago

The instance should rename sh.itjustdont.works :)

It's an opportunity to try kbin again, it seems the federation with fedia works way better than it did last time I tried, but I must say I am still somehow lost with it, it's great bacause I see different magazines, but it sucks because it's not "just a backup account"

The catholic church still has a huge societal influence and social power,. In many countries, they own hospital, charities, schools, daycares and provide tons of other important services to their members. So in some place being part of the Church is more than just "praying". Add also the huge number of practicing and cultural catholic who would still see the Church as a reference organization regarding ethic.

That said, people will still have other way to be bigot : We don't hate them for being trans but for having non married sex, is an easy one

Tons of European cities already set-up speed-limit to 30 km/h. It's not just large cities, I've seen villaged limited at 30 too.
it's basically less nuisance for the residents
