When you search for a restaurant for example the top results are ads. Also, sometimes while riding your car you get a sound notification that “there is this restaurant just around the corner”.

Wild that you’ve never seen any, they are definitely there.

I have responded to Microslop preemptively by abandoning their software and adopting Linux.

This March marked my first year of Linux, can’t see myself going back.

I love organic maps! I just wish searching for businesses was easier :( still need to keep Apple Maps installed on the side because of this.

I love this comment lmfao. It’s so true, the article debunks itself with its glass ceiling opinions.

What are you even using to replace Apple Maps though? Google Maps is in an even more advanced level of enshittification and has had ads for years now, and Here Wego, while good, doesn’t have enough content to effectively replace Apple or Gmaps.

Perspective from someone in Europe.

Completely caused by corporations and “every Man by Himself” government policy, too. We were never meant to be like this.

Not just this, if what has happened in the past few years applies here (hint: it does) this platform will just sell to the US as soon as the shareholders feel like having an exit and live like Europeans lords anyway, so what’s that trust worth?

I’d rather be on the federation already.

If it helps, NixOS makes it REALLY easy to switch from Gnome to Niri and back, all it takes is to comment in one of the DEs and comment out the other.

No. It’s either tipping or it’s culture, it can’t be both.

I can’t imagine the stress of living in the US and never knowing how much you’re going to pay, but also feel bad if you don’t tip because you know that waiter or waitress will not get paid enough because of you.

I prefer that people earn a living wage. Nay, a thriving wage.
