Working in cooperations is the definition of insanity. Been there, it's crazy. And yes, there the lying and cheating part is most likely to get you ahead.

Usually veiled in religion. Also the American dream, work your way up instead of investing into education.

Business owner here, even if not a very good one. These kinds of CEOs exist, but there are far from the norm. And they usually act that way because the owners of the company expect them to lead that way. There is a crowd mechanic of many people owning some of the stock of a company. It leads to some psychopathy as nobody feels responsible and everybody wants to earn some extra Money. Look into a documentary called "cooperation".

Most business people, especially the more successful ones are the classic boys club people. They get good deals by being friends and knowing people that give them access. It leads to a culture where what you earn has more or less nothing to so with what or how good you work. If you know the show billions, watch it and look for the making of episodes. There is a lot of real world experience in the writing.

Remember: we treat and help even those who smoke themselves to death while we do it. Empathy is a human quality. By gloating and being cruel, we sink to their level. Even if this women never learns her lesson, please show empathy and help of you can.

Watching sandman season 2. Somehow knowing what the author did to other people seems to enrich the story somewhat. The dysfunctional family of the endless and all the abusive characters seem to hint at the darker corners of the authors life.

Art images life, even if it's painful and gruesome.

That loving you partner honestly and fulfilling their every wish would make them love you for the rest of your life. That a partner that has three kids with you would not leave you without a warning or giving a reason. Feels like treason.

We just had a thread about biopunk centered media, I would love a similar collection about movies and TV shows about solar punk. Here we go:

I really loved the show the peripheral. I know it's not really centered around solar punk per se, but it happens to be placed in a world where the main character goes from place to place in a solar charged e-bike.

What's your favorite show or movie set in a solar punk world?

Just started reading and I am already planning to switch over to extreme test driven development. We don't test nearly enough.

Whats your preferred development strategy? And comparably good sources you would recomment?

We use this primarily for input generation for dialog tests.

Its a quickcheck implementation and found us quite alot of "weird" bugs. Like a not-exactly matching encoding of database and application.

Now we gained clean utf smileys in text fields m)

Highly recommend it.

This post is a little older, but I was surprised how many packages are timeless allstars. I use all of them except for

  • cors headers
  • extensions
  • storages
  • pytest
  • environ

Which do you use? And for what reasons? For example I need to look into pytest and determinw whats better about that than the natively used test framework.

First post in the new community,

Cheers!
