So I got an old HTV One (M8) and I wanted to try installing a different OS. The problem is: I cant unlock the bootloader without an account at htcdev but their e-mail service seems unavailable. If I register with an e-mail adress the e-mail never arrives. If I try to register again it says: email allready taken. Can anyone help me out who has allready a htcdev account?

I dont know how much information a SmartWatch can send to thier mother company without the proprietary app. But I'd suggest you use gadgetbridge to syc it to your phone.

https://f-droid.org/packages/nodomain.freeyourgadget.gadgetbridge/

It's open source and I bet there's some way to hook it up to your NAS.

*edit Be sure to check compatibility with your watch before buying they have a list here: https://gadgetbridge.org/

So my wife has a 10 year old low end notbook. 500Gb of storage (HDD), 2GB of GDR3 RAM, and an intel Celeron Processor N2806. It originally came with Win 8, then she "upgraded" to win 10 and after that it was pretty much unusable. I am talking CPU and Ram about 80-90% in idle, opening a browser got everything down to a crawl. She mostly used it a storage and brwosing, watching youtube and occasionally to write. So I (also a Linux newbie) finally got the time to install a newbie friendly Os (Fedora) and it's so much better! I am Talking 20%CPU usage and 50%(?) RAM in idle.

Man I (as a german) often trash on the german insurance plan but from my perspective this is just insanity!
