Maybe they only play on PS4 and can’t speak on the activity of the other servers.

It has a relatively small but dedicated player base still, and gets one or two balance patches a year. Generally pretty easy to find games in quick match, ARAM and ranked mode, but unranked draft is hard to get into (was always a less popular mode).

Game is still fun if you enjoyed it when it was more active, just don’t expect frequent updates unless Microsoft suddenly sees some massive potential for profit and funds it heavily out of nowhere for some reason.

The shield-based fighting style was also a small note that was missed in the duel between Paul and Jamis in the movie. Paul was missing what they thought were clear cuts and as a result they believed he was cruelly toying with Jamis, but it was because he was slowing his blade at the very last moment due to shield training.

Also a slightly weird moment for me as a book fan was when the thopter Duncan escaped in clearly showed that it had shields with a rock crashing off of it, but then he was being chased by lasguns immediately after.

Don't forget:

  • I invoke the 5th.

(You only had 21 of the 25 words.)

Great patch so far, imo. Automelee is quite possibly the best single QoL feature they've ever added, and Dagath has been quite a bit of fun. Still kinda feeling things out with her as far as survivability goes, but I'm starting to get the hang of it with the right mod setup. Dorrclave is also pretty sweet, though I wish it were slightly faster with some of its attacks; just annoying how long some of the animations take.

If you’re finding that he’s doing fine in combat, then don’t worry about it. If you want him to do more, then multiclassing can improve that if you know what you want from the multiclass combo.

Yeah, if these kinds of rules really stopped people from selling art at conventions, I’d have dozens fewer prints waiting to be hung up.

Was with you until your final point. Per the “Ability Modifiers” section of Attack Rolls in chapter 9, making a melee weapon attack uses Strength. The only exception to this is weapons that have finesse, which the crossbow does not. And despite this being an attack with a ranged weapon, you are using it as a melee weapon attack.

The bugs, and just generally unpolished experience, especially toward the end, definitely lowered my personal score on the game, so I can see why they were worried about them. Preeeetty shitty move to delay copies because it was so unfinished toward the end of the game.

Commented this on another instance, just copying and pasting it here.

As a Testament main, I’m pretty excited about this. Don’t necessarily agree with the doom and gloom I’ve seen of them being bottom 3 right now, but they’re definitely hitting a few struggles. Easier conversions, the teleport mixup, bigger knockup from Arbiter Sign, all great changes.

In general, it looks like a decent patch. Maybe folks didn’t get what they wanted, but generally the characters who needed nerfs or buffs got them. Notable exceptions being Anji and I-No feeling a little nerfed (depends on their new special moves, I think), and Nago looking buffed kinda unnecessarily. Looking forward to how it all shakes out, though.

I feel like the UX/UI also needs a lot of work. Tooltips missing important information, an inability to see what future levels in a class/subclass grant me (making it much more difficult to make an informed decision there), I can't view the inventory/character sheets of companions not currently in my party (requiring four steps of starting dialogue just to check items on a person and swap back to my original party member), a lack of explanation on how things are calculated or what your proficiency bonus is/comes from, etc. Not even counting the numerous visual bugs in the UI, or how the UI just seems oddly sluggish at times for no discernible reason.

I'm genuinely loving a ton of the game. But interacting with the interface is a constant low level annoyance that pulls me out of the experience just a bit all the time and noticeably detracts from my enjoyment as a result.

It’s interesting to me that we could already see the signs of some of this just based on what they defined to break the VTT-specific rules of the OGL update, which was anything that had effects that made it too video-game-y. Showed they fundamentally misunderstood what VTTs are for and do six months ago, and it seems that hasn’t changed.
