I think you are too cynical about your fellow man.

Listen. We don't know what happened. We can't just sit here and speculate that he was driven to murder based on x y or z with no knowledge of the situation, or judge individual pictures on how murder-y the people in them look.

is it? that's typical you think?

There have been exposes, damning investigation and lawsuits about basically all of the big ones.

There is something especially sinister about proclaiming your intention to do a color revolution and be a comprador with a hammer and sickle background.

A lot of the aristocratic leadership likely did fully intend to use this as a vehicle for restoration and personal advancement. Louis Marie de Lescure absolutely had such designs for one. But when the uprising began, it did as a levy riot, and the leaders of the vendee uprising were not the big wigs of the ancien regime, influential emigres or even noteworthy military minds. They were the leadership that the peasantry in a very Marxian sack-of-potatoes style decision decided to appoint their formal leadership essentially because they were around and the guys who were "Supposed" to be in charge. (Except for figures like Jacques Cathelineau).

We can see this in part in the fact that pretty much all the Vendean generals fucking sucked and got their asses kicked up and down France by people sometimes half their age.
But France spent the next 200 years lionising the Vendeans, so here we are.

Yea. The taboo on racial slurs was never really considered by authors in Scandinavia until later, you still had children's authors writing about racial tolerance while using what are just straight slurs until the late 90s.

Edit:I should clarify. This is not a defense or an excuse. It is ridiculous and embarrassing.

They are an aquatic member of the lobe finned fish clade. They are by any reasonable metric a fish. So are dolphins.

Also so are you if we strip away the aquatic part.

I'm sure this is a common phenomenon, but because of my limited knowledge of film in general I can't think of many examples. But someone reminded me of the wildly different casting choices made for Mads Mikkelsen in Danish versus international/American productions, and I thought to myself "That's gotta be a bigger phenomenon". So I ask you hexbearians, can you think of some people whose international and domestic acting careers seem to be entirely different? And how would you explain it?
