One thing that I'm surprised is being left out is that the admins were doing outreach to various leftist groups, and they were able to get into a conversation with at least a chapter of was one of the more substantial ones (maybe PSL?) who then refused because of the website referencing El Chapo. They rightly decided it would be better for the site's public image to not have that name, and the site had somewhat grown apart from the podcast anyway.

It could never live up to that name anyway

Bernie had a lot of support back in 2020, but he got ratfucked by the entire field moving to ensure that Joe had a clear path to beat him.

Sure the history is interesting, so is that of elan vital, abiogenesis, and geocentrism. It still remains that anyone who believes in these in the modern day has something seriously wrong with them and there being a Soviet plenum that agreed with them almost a century ago does not change that fact.

I've seen some moments of HB consensus that "religion cannot be a reactionary social force ever, even theoretically, and you must be a reddit atheist idealist for suggesting so"

If the site policy is that protective of the intellectual influence of Evangelicalism, the site should be shut down because it has lost the plot.

There is a difference between people believing retrospectively dumb shit in the past versus believing dumb shit today. I'm not going to call some 16th century natural philosopher dumb for believing in elan vital or whatever.

I thought the FF7 remake handled that pretty well

Someone should try making a classic JRPG but with the game mechanics replaced with something that's actually good

Have you played Omori? It's not rocket science, but I thought the emotion system was fun to play with.
