I don't have any advice or help for you because I'm in a somewhat similar situation as you. I was also a good student (not quite straight A, but close enough) and thought my education would also give me some form of agency over my life. That, of course, turned out to be completely untrue due to various factors outside my control. I also thought moving out of my small town would give me a fresh start and allow me to finally live a normal life... which never really happened either.

I've been enjoying this channel so far. It's from a Palestinian perspective and deals with subjects such as colonialism, the genocide in occupied Palestine, racism, and Indigenous issues. Also +1 to Boy Boy.

EDIT: This channel is full of short, hilarious skits mocking western double standards, especially on Palestine.

I am an opportunist. If the pro-Skubs look like they're winning, I too shall be pro-Skub. However, if the anti-Skubs are victorious, then I've always been anti-Skub.

Right now I'm taking a break to see if it'll help, but I highly doubt I'll want to go back after it's over. It feels like something got lifted off my shoulders too. Thanks for sharing, comrade - I'm glad the uncertainty didn't last and it gives me hope that mine won't, either.

Hope it goes well for you! Sucks that it pays so little, but it definitely sounds more (spiritually/morally?) rewarding than what you were doing before. I'm not great with kids so it's not gonna work out for me
