If your instance has .ml defederated or blocked, could that filter the image?

I gave up on BBC “News” years ago after a host tried a dozen different ways to get an American to say something racist. BBC finally simply ended the interview, immediately asserted on-air that the guest had said the racist thing (he very specifically had not), and carried on. I was done at that point.
