It's a funny picture, but it doesn't look like a BoneAppleTea...

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Well I got tired of waiting

[–] wols@lemm.ee 19 points 2 years ago

Love this comment.
Absurd, mysterious, unapologetic.

What does that have to do with this not being a boneappletea?

[–] smuuthbrane@sh.itjust.works 24 points 2 years ago (1 children)

With what? You've confiscated all the knives.

[–] ironhydroxide@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 years ago

Exactly, they weren't going to go out and buy new knives.

[–] BananaTrifleViolin@lemmy.world 19 points 2 years ago (1 children)

This was a satirical poster; the phrasing is deliberate and it was posted on the underground as a protest against the conservatives.

[–] manmachine@lemmy.world 16 points 2 years ago (1 children)

“But have you tried ‘kill all the poor’?”

[–] ValiantDust@feddit.de 6 points 2 years ago

How about "raise VAT and kill all the poor"?

[–] Z3k3@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I don't think this fits here the current lot in parliament would do this if they thought it would help their numbers

[–] Rentlar@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It would double the number of homeless Labour voters so I doubt they would go through with it.

[–] atomicorange@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Oh dear, he doesn’t know that humans can’t reproduce through mitosis yet. Ask your mom about it honey.

[–] HeartyBeast@kbin.social 8 points 2 years ago

For context. This is a satirical poster popped up in the tube over advertising

[–] Ghyste@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I don't think you understand what this community is...

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 years ago

I understood that it was way to quite

Whenever I see this picture I think of these lyrics:

This is an announcement from Genetic Control

It is my sad duty to inform you

Of a four-foot restriction, on humanoid height

-

I hear the directors of Genetic Control

Have been buying all the properties

That have recently been sold, taking risks oh so bold

It's said now that people will be shorter in height

They can fit twice as many in the same building site

They say it's alright

Beginning with the tenants of the town of Harlow

In the interest of humanity, they've been told they must go

Told they must go, go, go, go

Perhaps off topic, and the poster may be satirical, but how is that turning out?

Have they reduced homelessness? Have they cut any homeless in half?

Just tired of empty promises.

[–] xor@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (2 children)

Haha, good one! Homelessness has more than doubled since the conservative party took power in 2010. This particular poster (albeit satirical) was from 2021, since then homelessness has increased massively in the ~~UK~~ England.

I love how they've been in power for so long over there that they're literally claiming they'll fix their own fucking creation.

[–] Z3k3@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Sunaks leadership campaign was litrly vote for me and I'll fix the economy WHILE he was chansoler of the exchequer

[–] MNByChoice@midwest.social 3 points 2 years ago

Thank you! Great info.

The data excluded those in shelters, and is England (not the UK). 4K is in the very solvable range. Pathetic that things are getting worse.

[–] ObviouslyNotBanana@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

By shipping one half to Rwanda, am I right?

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 0 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I'm not sure we should be making jokes about the Rwandan Genocide

[–] ObviouslyNotBanana@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

I'm just saying that the Brits are sending asylum seekers to Rwanda. Pretty tasteless tbh

[–] Gennadios@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

In all fairness, this could be a very effective strategy.

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It would double the homeless population

[–] Gennadios@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago

You have won this argument, I concede.

[–] mkwt@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

I see this and I get the Atlanta Braves fight cheer stuck in my head:

"Don't... Stop... The... Chop.."

[–] doingthestuff@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

You've got my sword!

Gimli: and my axe!

[–] shutz@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 years ago

Could have been worse. They could have had them quartered.

[–] AnUnusualRelic@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

How many have they cut in half so far?

[–] blackn1ght@feddit.uk 2 points 2 years ago

Zero. They awarded the contract to Lord Fuck-the-poor III who then pocketed the £250million.

[–] therealjcdenton@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 years ago

I love seeing this in Wrestling Empire

[–] AFC1886VCC@reddthat.com 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Have you tried "kill all the poor?"

I'm not saying do it, I'm just saying run it through the computer and see if it would work.
