Showerthoughts

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

Wraths are usually referred to as "wasps." And I am a Lust/Gluttony hybrid.

[–] orphiebaby@lemm.ee 5 points 2 years ago (2 children)

So you eat off the backs of strippers, got it.

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I'm surprised "we want plates" wasn't just full of sushi on naked women.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Aww I forgot about that sub. I miss it.

[–] Lath@kbin.earth 1 points 2 years ago

[–] Sanctus@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Also known as Pride

[–] R2DPru@lemmy.world 18 points 2 years ago

Prides are lions. Alice in wonderland mentions momewraths.

[–] Donebrach@lemmy.world 17 points 2 years ago (2 children)

could just rename some animals. Honey badgers could be a good candidate for Wraths.

Here is an alternative Piped link(s):

Badger, badger, badger, badger...

Piped is a privacy-respecting open-source alternative frontend to YouTube.

I'm open-source; check me out at GitHub.

If cats are any sin, it is pride without a doubt. Hell a specific kind of big cat is already called a pride when they're in a group

[–] orphiebaby@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

Hugely depends on the cat. Some that I've known are wraths, but most are sweethearts (who like to take Attack of Opportunity)

[–] LemmyKnowsBest@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago (3 children)

okay. So a sloth is a furry animal that moves very slowly. Please tell me what the other things look like.

[–] Dasus@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

A pride is a group of lions that live together.

[–] afraid_of_zombies@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Someone told me once that even if we could speak to a lion it wouldn't understand it.

I am not picturing a Who's on first, what's on second situation with explaining a pride parade to a lion.

[–] Dasus@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

I mean... you can speak to lions.

You can't speak with them, but you can speak to them.

I just spent the night speaking to my brother's cat.

[–] Phoonzang@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

I'm pretty sure my Dad's cat is really a glutton.

[–] Cuberoot@lemmynsfw.com 8 points 2 years ago

Gluttons exist; their modern name is wolverine.

[–] rockerface@lemm.ee 7 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Would Envies be songbirds that mimic other birds? Also, parrots

[–] Bahnd@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I would throw ferrets, weasles or trash pandas for the slot as they are known to like stealing things.

[–] rockerface@lemm.ee 1 points 2 years ago

But would that be Envy or Greed? I guess it would depend on whether they steal it because they want to have it or because they don't want you to have it

[–] afraid_of_zombies@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago

Honey badgers, dolphins, pigs, cats, peacocks, and billionaires

[–] Mango@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago
[–] Cosmicomical@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

It's only logical

[–] Leviathan@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Where are the lusts? Asking for a friend.

[–] XeroxCool@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Have you ever felt aroused by a Dolphin?

[–] key@lemmy.keychat.org 3 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Animal lusts definitely exist
