It's the dunk tank.

This is where you come to post big-brained hot takes by chuds, libs, or even fellow leftists, and tear them to itty-bitty pieces with precision dunkstrikes.

Rule 1: All posts must include links to the subject matter, and no identifying information should be redacted.

Rule 2: If your source is a reactionary website, please use archive.is instead of linking directly.

Rule 3: No sectarianism.

Rule 4: TERF/SWERFs Not Welcome

Rule 5: No ableism of any kind (that includes stuff like libt*rd)

Rule 6: Do not post fellow hexbears.

Rule 7: Do not individually target other instances' admins or moderators.

Rule 8: The subject of a post cannot be low hanging fruit, that is comments/posts made by a private person that have low amount of upvotes/likes/views. Comments/Posts made on other instances that are accessible from hexbear are an exception to this. Posts that do not meet this requirement can be posted to !shitreactionariessay@lemmygrad.ml

Rule 9: if you post ironic rage bait im going to make a personal visit to your house to make sure you never make this mistake again

Every person alive should be grateful every single day that their Paleolithic forebears weren't a bunch of soulless grift-brained shitheads.

[–] blakeus12@hexbear.net 17 points 11 months ago (4 children)

can anyone explain what this is trying to say?

[–] Xx_Aru_xX@hexbear.net 16 points 11 months ago (1 children)

They'll sell the 1$ waterbottle for 100$, with the 99$ he will make more water

[–] peeonyou@hexbear.net 7 points 11 months ago (1 children)

but instead of water he'll use pee and say it's water because technically it has some water in it

Oh, no! I've now made water too cheap to extract enough profit to satisfy my investors because of the infrastructure I built! Time to abandon and let rot all of this infrastructure that I built! That way water will be 100's of dollars again with the only difference being that I, the capitalist am richer, which was really the whole point of this think if you think about it.

Baby brain reinventing "no iPhone in Venezuela" argument, more details at 10.

A solid 60% of porky's minions stay loyal to him because they genuinely think that socialism is badthingsism

[–] peeonyou@hexbear.net 11 points 11 months ago

since when can you buy a bottle of water for $1 in a place that has no water readily available?

Why does the dying person have a dumpy while also looking straight out of a horror movie

[–] smb@lemmy.ml 9 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I see the simpleness in the argument.

yet not building something because its products cannot be sold overpriced is a rule in cap, not a problem in soc.

However here's a map for you to view the "success" rate of pumping more and more:

https://www.americangeosciences.org/critical-issues/maps/groundwater-depletion-map-united-states

and "measurements are in cubic kilometers"

lately i saw a documentation about farmers in the us. poor people, literally loosing everything build up for many generations only due to the groundwater abuse. and no, digging deeper wells is not "always" an option, it stops serving, when there is no groundwater any more (surprise!). and the rain does not fill it up again as fast as it is pumped out for profit. and in the end, the only "profit" you get literally is dust in the wind. what a gain!

well ("well", what a word joke here) now i just guess you got the order and texts of the pictures in the meme a "slight" bit wrong.

This was posted in our community The Dunk Tank, which is used for posting really bad opinions you find out in the wild and we all dunk on the content, it wasn’t posted intending to be serious. :)

Edit: Hexbear has a sort of irony poisoned but definitely absurdist humor

[–] smb@lemmy.ml 6 points 11 months ago

ok, hm i'm still a bit new to lemmy and how it works, guess i have to look more closely on communities and what they are for.

thanks

"isn't irony there to be ironed out?" 🤔 (i love word jokes)

Drinking one another's piss until profit.

The problem with capitalism is eventually you run out of other people's piss.

[–] Blep@hexbear.net 9 points 11 months ago

This has to be a bit

[–] CannotSleep420@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 11 months ago (1 children)

My favorite part about this is the deathly dehydrated person saying they'd pay x number of dollars for a bottle of water, implying there is some y such that y > x where the person would refuse to buy the water and die of thirst instead. lenin facepalm Deeply unserious.

[–] Outdoor_Catgirl@hexbear.net 5 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I mean some people choose to not get treated and die rather than leave their family in millions of dollars of medical debt. This does happen, unfortunately.

[–] CannotSleep420@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 11 months ago

This is true, though also moot since this meme is about how capitalism is supposedly better at meeting society's needs.

Wut?

Capitalist MFs when they realize I fucked their mom without the profit motive monke-beepboop
