The cat wasn't sleeping, it just wanted to see if she would cut her kimono.
A kimono can be replaced.
If a cat ain't happy, the whole palace ain't happy.
Although we know the cat got up 5 seconds after the kimono was cut.
As soon as you finish cutting it gets up and moves.

Just take the fucking thing off if you need to get up. Why the hell do you need to cut your kimono?
Cat is probably the vengeful scratching biting type of cat. The woman knew she was making the right decision.
