Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

Now also tankies are mad at her, calling her an "anarkiddie", and they/them-ing her.

And nothing of value was lost.

All my love for the autistic furry trans puppygirls. Genuinely and sincerely. If any of you are here reading this, you are a good girl and i am proud of you and I am grateful you exist.

I have tankfully never heard anyone complain about a piece of software being coded by a furry transgendered person.

In fact, it seems like a stamp of quality :P

Movies, however...? Man, I remember when the Wachowski Sisters transitioned..

If you've heard people screeching about "RUST BÆD!!1!" then you probably have, since a lot of these chuds considered it the Woke Language (at least before it was co-opted by slopbros)

[–] Focal@pawb.social 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

That passed me by. I heard people talk about rust, but not that it was bad, per se. Just different.

Of course, me not having heard of these peeps does not mean they don't exist. Just means I live under my own kind of comfy rock. (There's room for more if you bring snacks)

[–] arisunz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Thank you for the offer but existing under the sun as a child of God blessed with Their Divine Spark who also happens to be a transgender schizo furry hacker sounds way more fun

(I can still bring you snacks though)

[–] Focal@pawb.social 4 points 2 days ago

I respect it!

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 18 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Good for you, I know way too many right wingers, who have stupid objections to them.

[–] Focal@pawb.social 3 points 2 days ago

Sorry to hear that :c

[–] Seralth@piefed.seralth.com 6 points 3 days ago

Same I didn't realize this was a thing. Even among the maga dumb fucks and hyper nationalistic loons. The stereotype of the gay trans LGBT furry being the one who's the good IT and software guy is still a thing.

It's like typically the only time I see them be positive about lgbtq anything or furry anything.

Yes iowa is a shitty place

😜 TWIST! The transgender autistic furry puppygirl, transitioned from a shredded Aryan German.

[–] Dogiedog64@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

She's happier now 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

Reminds of a fascinating story of an prehistoric Aryan shaman leader excavated in Germany in 30s who turned out to be a witch female with a unique genetic twist that gave her an ability to go in trance at will, and she was so important, her grave received sacrifices 400 years after she died.

If you haven't heard it yet

[–] Actionschnils@feddit.org 8 points 2 days ago

Newest plot twist in this case: Studies kinda proved that she (like almost everybody at this time in Europe) was black

So the Nazi used her for her propaganda as the male aryan clan king. But in the End she was a black shaman :D

Here a podcast according to this case from a German public Radio. Sadly there is no international version.

What the actual fuck, how are we rebooting movies left and right but not making this? She's called the Bad Dürrenberg shaman for christsake. Get Robert Eggers on this shit stat!

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 8 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Studios only greenlight safe remakes these days. Look what happened with the new Tom Cruise film, they can't risk that.

i just want to note that the "genetic twist" was a fucked up neck/spine, not the magical ability to control her own brain. She would have to tilt her head in just the right way to trigger it.

[–] Unpigged@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 days ago

It's a fairly rare development of blood vessels in the neck. By twisting her head she were able to restrict blood flow to brain and it brought side effects which mesolithic people probably considered to be a magic power.

Not even a strawman. I did actually hear the take "I refuse to play this videogame because the studio has ~~DIY~~ DEI policies."

Edit: DIY

[–] 1995ToyotaCorolla@lemmy.world 21 points 3 days ago

“I refuse to play this videogame because the studio has DIY policies.”

I have an image in my head of someone being forced to build a shed before playing a game, getting frustrated, and giving up

[–] heartSagan5@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Ah, Nazis. And a plot twist would be that they're both Nazis, just one has a "lovable kink."

[–] Blaad@europe.pub 22 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I haven't heard anything like that except here lmao, good one...

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 39 points 3 days ago (5 children)

A lot of pro-AI right wingers have issues with LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent people in open source communities.

[–] Blaad@europe.pub 40 points 3 days ago (1 children)

So they have an issue with the majority of their devs? Weird

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 26 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Brian Lunduke alone made people assume any criticism of Rust is made in bad faith, all by focusing too much on the Rust community having trans people.

[–] sirico@feddit.uk 13 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Who in 2026 is still listening to that hack?

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 15 points 3 days ago

Way too many people. Just because you know he's a hack doesn't mean others also know he's a hack.

Hey, give it enough time and everyone will come together to just care if it's AI slop or not.

[–] svcg@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 3 days ago (6 children)

How much software can be coded by autistic furry transgender pups, though? I only know one (possibly two) and most people I know in the industry only hit two or three out of four. /s

Nice straw man you build here! Good you set it in fire before someone could take it serious

[–] N0tTr0xy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 3 days ago

I don’t even care who wrote my porn
