No weed, no alcohol, no caffeine, no meds, nothing legal or illegal.

If this describes you, how you doing with your rawdogging of reality?

I was about to say "I'm drug free!" But then I read your first three listed drugs and was like fuck, I forgot that weed, alcohol, and caffeine were drugs lmao. They're just legal.

Weed and alcohol is very rare for me, maybe once or twice a month, but I literally depend on caffeine as an antidepressant.

I should probably see a therapist.

Do you consider naturally occuring hormones to be drugs?

[-] JeSuisUnHombre@lemm.ee 6 points 6 months ago

I guess I wouldn't consider hormones or nutrients drugs, but the nature of the question would rule out supplements I think.

Sweet!

I both love it and hate it. I'm proud of going through it all without substances and yet I often find myself hating life, and I have a hard time waking up. So, yeah. That's how.

Take the good with the bad!

...does tea count? Or sugar? Jerking off and video games are enough for me.

My only real problem now seems to be finding a relationship, so life's great.

I also have zero interest in those drugs though. Coffee tasted bitter. Alcohol tastes bad, and when I got tipsy once I just felt mild inconvenience walking, I think. Smoking smells bad. Never saw weed with my own eyes. A friend had me try yerba mate telling me it'd give me a kick like coffee, especially if I never tried it, but I just didn't feel anything special.

just living, but sometimes it feels reality is rawdogging me though. But that's just life.

You have to define "drug" much more specifically because many compounds that our bodies produce are also medical treatments.

Dang, no caffeine? You’re strict. I would like to think I don’t need caffeine, I just like the ritual of drinking coffee and when I don’t I feel slightly more pure, not that that helps me like myself anymore lol

Yeah, going quite well. I like the clarity of mind. A few years ago, I once took some painkillers and even three weeks later, my mind still felt hazy at times, like I couldn't concentrate fully. Not worth it, at all.

[-] jet@hackertalks.com 4 points 5 months ago

Food.. is a drug.

No really. Our body reacts to our diet in very strong ways. There is great debate about the "best diet", but the one thing people can agree on is there are bad diets. (I.e. just whisper keto in a health community, taking people's carbs away is like killing their pets)

We should consider all of our inputs when gauging our health.

Yep, it's me.

Well, reality is not a rawdogging for me. Life can be difficult sometimes, however I always take time to contemplate small things and enjoy them. For example, when I feel bad, I concentrate on birds flying and I imagine all the amazing and complex machinery inside of their bodies for example. Of course, this is not the perfect solution that annihilates all the problems (spoiler: it doesn't exist), but this helps me feel better and not feeling too bad.

I think only Mormons are that strict

[-] saigot@lemmy.ca 1 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Mormons don't drink coffee because it's hot, not because its caffienated they get a lot of caffiene via soda.

[-] HootinNHollerin@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 months ago

The ones I used to work with didn’t drink anything with caffeine. Never heard of the hot thing.

[-] saigot@lemmy.ca 3 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

So apparently it's something even Mormons are confused about but official doctrine is that caffeine is not a problem. The one guy I knew was fine with caffeine

https://www.npr.org/2016/01/03/461843938/can-mormons-drink-coca-cola

: In 2012, the church released an official statement stating explicitly that caffeinated soda is allowed under church doctrine. Still, many Mormons will not consume caffeinated drinks.

I'm supposed to be on adhd meds, but I'm on break so I've stopped. Don't really feel any diffrent.

[-] Original@beehaw.org 2 points 5 months ago

I think this could be the premise of a reality show. Take 20 people and cut them off from everything and see how they do. It’s an interesting thought experiment for how we would all individually do with it.

I never smoked anything, never was drunk, don't drink coffee. I never saw a point in any of that. If you can change something, do it. If you cannot, then accept it. I don't see the point in wasting energy on things that cannot be changed.
