Ah, yes, the military that famously can't even keep strategically important Straits open down on Earth will be able to win wars around the Moon.

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Worse, they're just quoting an appointed stooge without pointing out the bias.

Speaking at the 2019 Conservative Political Action Conference, Trump said he had met Caine in Iraq in December 2018.[26] According to Trump, Caine told him, "I love you, sir. I think you're great, sir. I'll kill for you, sir."[14] Allegedly, he claimed that ISIS could be defeated in a week.[14] Trump also said that Caine was wearing a MAGA hat at the time, a detail denied by Caine.[27]

[–] CultLeader4Hire@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

“Yeah I said I love him, I think he’s great, I’d let him fuck me and I’d kill for him, but I absolutely WAS NOT wearing a maga hat!!” - Ok dude

I really don't think the Mooninites will see it coming, so war should be over in a week or two. I'm willing to back a nuclear bombardment of the Moon, if it will ensure that I can still watch football this weekend.

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Trump will win the war on the moon on day one. The moon will wish it hadn't started shit.

[–] Aceticon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Thinking about it, America can win a war on the Moon:

Specifically, America can win a war against the Moon by default when no Mooninites turn up to fight against them.

Then again, under the current leadership the American military would still have casualties in a war against the Moon were no Mooninites show up to fight them, purelly because of their own incompetence: I mean, if they can't even keep a ship properly supplied a few thousands of kilometers away from America in an environment which isn't even inherently that dangerous, they'll probably do much worse when the soldiers are 385,000 km away from America in a highly hostile environment.

Lol.

From "we will bring down prices and drain the swamp" to "we must fight for the moon".

I mean I've known my entire adult life that fascism is uniquely stupid, but goddamn.

[–] socsa@piefed.social 6 points 1 day ago

They are literally just recycling plot points from sitcoms at this point

[–] Pavidus@lemmy.world 41 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You know, we created a treaty decades ago to ensure that space has no business "serving US interests."

[–] nilloc@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

We’ve been hiding spy satellites in nasa shuttles ever since.

And apparently weapon systems as well.

Someone told the orange one, that the Moon controls the tides.

[–] IncogCyberSpaceUser@piefed.social 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Tide comes in, tide goes out, you can't explain it!

"Fucking moon, how does it work?"

  • unknown
[–] Asfalttikyntaja@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 day ago

Ok. So we are going to have real moon nazis?

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 33 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Hear me out on this one. Maybe, just maybe 'forever war' is not in the best interest of humankind. And maybe those that advocate for endless wars should be removed from power and prosecuted.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You misspelled "executed".

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 1 points 1 day ago

I used to be much better at spelling.

Military industrial complex is just one of the ways the rich burn money to accelerate their accumulation of wealth.

[–] Kintarian@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Those pesky men in the moon must be stopped! They want to eat all our cheese!

[–] ButtermilkBiscuit@feddit.nl 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

We should strap all the oligarchs to a rocket and let them fight it out on the moon.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Guillotines are cheaper than rocket fuel.

[–] jaxxed@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago

I for one support ths. Take all the warmongering and put it out somewhere where it won't hurt most f us.

Pretty atomic fireworks.

But what happens as the month progresses and the moon gets smaller??

[–] justsomeguy@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's like a battle royale game.

[–] cheat700000007@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago (2 children)
[–] MajorasTerribleFate@lemmy.zip 14 points 2 days ago

You know how long it takes the moon to go from new to full or full to new? Just about two weeks. One fortnight.

[–] socsa@piefed.social 1 points 1 day ago

socsa thanked the bus driver

I'll chase him round the Moons of Nibia and round the Antares Maelstrom and round Perdition's flames before I give him up! 🤬

[–] teslasdisciple@lemmy.ca 24 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Will Trump tariff the moon first?

[–] rslogix89@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I’d be more surprised if he didn’t given his level of stupidity

[–] nilloc@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

It’s only gone this long without tariffs because it’s not on google maps.

[–] rslogix89@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Trump probably: “If my name can’t be put on the moon, no one can have the moon!”

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Caligula waging war on the English Channel vibes....

Top Trump military adviser

Who the fuck gives a shit about what Pete Hegseth thinks?

[–] dasrael@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 day ago

like a lame version of 007 Moonraker....?

[–] tacosanonymous@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Who the fuck are they going to fight?

I’m pretty sure there aren’t a lot of other people up there. The few that are have a lot of friends here in Earth that are going to be super fucking pissed.

Also, to what end?

Who fascists always end up fighting. Themselves.

[–] kgbbot@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 2 days ago

Unfortunately his stupid low IQ dementia riddled mind probably thinks we need to make this happen yesterday

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

How are they going to do that when they're firing all the scientists?

[–] Voroxpete@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Look at this idiot who thinks scientists know anything about fighting. This is a job for soldiers, not eggheads. That's what the Space Force is for.

What's funnier is that most people would hurt themselves flailing about like that.

[–] CultLeader4Hire@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

But we love the moon because it is close to us

[–] BuckFutter@timeyak.com 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Cislunar…yah thats totally not going to be a meme at some point. Bunch of clowns.

[–] Exatron@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

It's definitely a word that will make certain people mad when they hear it.

[–] MBech@feddit.dk 8 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

But I thought Trump was the peace president? Who would the peace president want to wage war on the moon?

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 days ago

Yes, let's bring our petty bickering off this planet, what a novel idea!

[–] AppleTea@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Finally, a front with no home advantage, and none of those pesky "strategic victory" conditions. Pure ballistics and machinery porn, just as God intended warfare to always be about.

[–] scrodumb@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 days ago

This means bullish outlook for my Flat Moon YouTube channel.
