I only know these from a photography store that hasn't redone their display window in like 3 decades. I guess this probably worked out eventually since all the old photo stuff is in demand again but there's also a bunch of obscure batteries.

You can get usb-c rechargeable lifepo4 replacements these days online! And LED replacement bulbs in a variety of voltage ratings/ranges
Yeah I have a few myself.
I think my family had D or C cell-powered flashlights growing up, and it was always more likely to have a dead bulb or drained batteries than not. Now I've got like a dozen different LED flashlights scattered around my home, that collectively cost me <$20 off aliexpress, and they all produce tons of light, last for months between charges, and are rechargeable via USB-C. Thanks China! 
I’m in a semi-rural area where power outages are pretty regular so there’s literally an LED flashlight nearby wherever you are in the house. They’re so ubiquitous you become blind to them though, so the trick is remembering where we typically plant them. :P
Get little glow in the dark stickers for them like me.

bicycle lights have profited so massively of the technological and manufacturing advancement here it's insane. I got a 20€ front dynamo powered light whose exact model and manufacturer name changes about every 6 months or so and the 75 lumen make it entirely reasonable to go high bicycle speeds in pitch black enviroments
LEDs can produce way more light with a smaller body and smaller battery. I do wonder if anyone’s made LED flashlights with the same body style.
There is funny flash lights that can illuminate a town square like it's day time.
full on lantern style I don't know of any off the top of my head but you can just replace the bulbs with drop-in LEDs

And there are LED maglites that are in the same body as the old C/D battery torches I believe.
I think the main reason that Maglite exists now is as a self-defense baton with plausible deniability.
That's literally the only reason the state sponsored thugs still use them.
We had those growing up, too. All of our emergency flashlights in the house ran on lantern batteries.
